Meanwhile, the girls were loading up and ready to go! I marched down the hallway with my bridal brigade, dress in tow:
Once we arrived at the venue, we all stopped and surveyed the sky, which was threatening to attack us with raindrops at any minute. No matter, though, since it made for some spectacular, dramatic photos of our venue:
After we went inside, I barely had time to survey the set-up ceremony and reception spaces before I was rushed to the bridal suite where I would finally put on my gown and become a bride. I didn’t share any photographs of my actual gown before the wedding, so I think it’s finally time it has its moment in the sun:

I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved my gown, the “Jenni” from Modern Trousseau’s Spring 2009 line. From its full alencon lace back to its swishy, silk skirt with chiffon overlay, it was perfect for me. Despite all the drama I had to go through for this wedding gown, it was 100% worth it. I felt absolutely giddy as my mom, cousin/MOH and bridesmaids lifted my gown over my hair:
My mom and MOH were the star players in this special moment:
The looks on bridesmaid Mrs. O’s faces said it all:
One last tug of my corset in the back by bridesmaid Mrs. S:
And I was finally a bride!
After, I toasted to my wedding day with my best friends in the world:
And mentally prepared to see my groom at our first look!Did you wait to change into your gown at your venue, or did you arrive in full bridal attire?

Happy New Year! I hope you had a great break and got a little relaxation. I'm so glad everything worked out with your gown, because it is just stunning, and you look gorgeous in it! After all of my dress drama, I definitely agree that every bride should get that giddy feeling when she slips into her dress. Since we had the first look, ceremony and reception at three different venues, I got ready at my bridesmaid's home. Her house is so beautiful, though, that I felt like we were already at a venue!
ReplyDeleteThe lace on your dress is SO FABULOUS! I also love the "swishy" fabric. Your dress is like a dream!
